Elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in the year 2022 from Guru Har Sahai Assembly Constituency. Prior to joining Politics, served Punjab Police and after 35 years, 1 month and 4 days of service, retired from the post of Inspector. Was among first five members of Cabinet and inducted as Minister for Freedom Fighters, Defence Services Welfare, Food Processing and Horticulture. Presently member of Committee on Agriculture and Allied Activities, and Committee on Government Assurances of Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the year 2023-24.
