Elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the first time in the year 2022 from Samana Constituency. Served as President of rural unit of the Aam Aadmi Party of Patiala District. Ardent Social Activist, organized Blood Donation Camps in Samana City. As a vigilant citizen, was shot at by unidentified assailants in March 2019 while trying to rescue a girl from kidnapping/molestation in Tarn Taran Sahib. Was among the first five Members to get inducted into the Cabinet. Presently, Minister of Defence Services Welfare, Freedom Fighters Information and Public Relations, Horticulture, Water Resources, Mines & Geology and Conservation of Land & Water.
