In May 2019, again elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from Sangrur Constituency and remained Member of Parliament 2019-2022 before having to resign for contesting election to the 16th Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Presently Chief Minister of Punjab. Runs a charitable NGO 'Lok Lehar Foundation' which helps kids with special needs.
