Elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the First Time in 2012 and re-elected in By-Election held in October 2019. Elected for the third time in 2022. At present Leader of Shiromani Akali Dal Legislature Party. Prior to coming to mainstream politics, elected Sarpanch of Village Ayali Khurd in 2008. Remained President of Cooperative Society Ayali Khurd from 1995 to 2009 and Chairman, Zila Parishad Ludhiana from 2017 to 2013. Awarded as Best Chairman of Zila Parishad, Ludhiana in 2013. Served as Member Pollution control Board from 2008 to 2013. Remained member of various Committees of Punjab Vidhan Sabha including Business Advisory Committee during previous terms. Presently, Member of Committee on Government Assurances for 2022-23 and Committee on Agriculture and Allied Activities Punjab Vidhan Sabha for 2023-24.
